Easy Bacon Cheeseburger Pie
Easy Bacon Cheeseburger Pie is that busy-night, go-to recipe we all love. Make it, bake it, then eat. It’s loaded with flavor and you can customize it as much as you would a regular cheeseburger.
This recipe reminds me of meatloaf in that you can change the flavors based on what makes you happy.
Add bacon, or not. Serve it with pickles, or not. Dip it in ketchup and mustard, or not. Ok, ok, you get it. Love spices? …throw some in.
This is based on an old recipe that’s been circulating for a long time, tried-n-true, but I added what makes me happy.
Such as, BACON!
Making Easy Bacon Cheeseburger Pie
First, preheat the oven to 400°, and grease or spray a 9″ pie plate.
Then, in a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onions until the beef is browned.
Quick note: you can substitute ground turkey in place of the beef (as shown in these pictures).
The beef has more flavor, so if using the turkey, I would add more spice, or something like diced jalepeños for added flavor.
While the beef is cooking, sprinkle the garlic powder, salt, and pepper into the mix.
Stir often, breaking the meat into smaller and smaller pieces. This takes about 8 – 10 minutes give or take.
Once the meat is cooked, drain any excess fat, then stir in the bacon.
Pour this mixture into the prepared pie plate, and sprinkle the cheese in an even layer over the top.
Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, mix together the Bisquick, milk, eggs, vegetable oil, and BBQ sauce.
You can optionally add the BBQ sauce on the side for dipping.
Pour the Bisquick mixture over the cheese in the pie plate.
With the back of a fork, press down gently making sure there are no dry pockets; that the Bisquick mixture was evenly distributed.
Bake uncovered for about 30 minutes. You can test for doneness by inserting a knife in the center to see if it comes out clean.
Once done, remove from the oven, but let it sit for 10 minutes to really set up before serving.
Serving your Easy Bacon Cheeseburger Pie
Treat it as you would a regular burger.
Add lettuce and tomatoes if you want, or maybe some pickle slices.
I like to dip mine in a little mustard and ketchup and/or Ranch.
Also, you can add ingredients into the mix before baking.
For instance, diced jalapeños come to mind, or maybe some diced bell peppers.
Or, add some fresh minced garlic for a more garlicky punch.
Switching up the shredded cheese would also be good; maybe Pepper Jack cheese? Yum!

A quick mention of this wonderful blank recipe book that I helped to create with a very dear friend. Write in one or more recipes before giving it to that special person, then they can fill the remaining pages with their favorites, and/or have other special people write out recipes for them. It’s personal, and yes, it takes time and effort — something we’ve gotten away from with all this technology. Check it out HERE where you can order a hard or soft cover. Once there, click on READ SAMPLE to see the pages within. I especially like the “measurements and conversions” page. Also, I make no money from any sales, I just love the idea of this book. Missing my mom as I do, seeing her handwriting always makes me feel closer to her. Give that gift to someone else by writing out a favorite recipe.
