Hi, I’m Lori and I want to thank you for stopping by. As a home cook, I’ve learned so much from others’ blogs that I wanted to share some of my favorite recipes and helpful tips that I’ve learned or figured out along the way.
Baking/cooking (and eating!) is something I love to do, but one of my other passions is serving the Lord. I became involved with a local Rescue Mission, specifically the dinner service, and it lead to me bringing dessert. This was so exciting for me! I bring whatever I can make from what I already have in my pantry, or I’ll make a new recipe I’m dying to try out on somebody. The dinner guests are so appreciative and gracious; it’s both humbling and challenging to make it look as good as it tastes. I’ll never forget the little boy who asked me to make him Oreo cupcakes. I wasn’t familiar with Oreo cupcakes, but looking at that sweet face I knew it was my mission to find out. They’re still one of my favorite cupcakes today.
Another passion I have involves rescuing dogs. I could probably write a book, but I will say there’s something so magical about bringing in a sick old dog (my sweet Ty Ty Boo) and offering him sanctuary in my home. I loved and appreciated that gentle giant every day I was blessed with him until we had to say goodbye. Today I have Baxter and Charlie Choc’ate Puddin’. Two mixed breeds I call “my boys” that can’t wait for me to blog about their favorite dog treats. (I think they just want me to take their picture again!)
