Materials

  • 1 small ripe red Anjou pear, very finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter, (1 stick) salted or unsalted
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. lemon rind, grated
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon

Instructions

  • In medium bowl, combine all ingredients.
  • Blend with immersion blender, a regular blender, or a food processor. Alternatively, mash pear with back of spoon in a bowl.
  • Texture tends to be lightly gritty with small chunks of pear, not perfectly smooth.
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving. Pear juice may separate, stir before using. Keep in refrigerator. Enjoy!

Notes

Cinnamon Pear Butter will last a few days (3 - 5) in your refrigerator, but not longer due to the fresh pear. Freezes well in air-tight container for up to 3 months.
