Cream Cheese Frosting

Materials

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 to 5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  • In large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter on MEDIUM speed until light and fluffy. Scrape sides as needed.
  • Reduce speed to LOW and gradually add powdered sugar. Add vanilla and salt. Once powdered sugar is incorporated, increase beaters to MEDIUM-HIGH and whip until light and fluffy.
  • Spread or pipe onto completely cooled cupcakes or cake. Enjoy!

Notes

Store in air-tight container in refrigerator for up to 5 days. Freezes well.
