Materials

  • 3 Tbsp. salted butter
  • 1/4 cup sweet onion or shallots, finely diced
  • 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk (or light cream, or half-and-half )
  • 16 oz. bag frozen peas

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Saute onions until translucent (approx. 2 minutes). Whisk in flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until absorbed.
  • Gradually whisk in milk until combined. Bring to a low boil.
  • Stir in peas. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 - 7 minutes, or until peas are tender. Enjoy!
