Materials

  • 16 oz. box Angel Food Cake mix
  • 21 oz. can lemon pie filling
  • 1 lemon (for zesting)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Have your ungreased 13 x 9-inch baking dish out.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the Angel Food cake mix and lemon pie filling. Grate the lemon rind (zest) and stir into the batter. Pour cake batter into dish and spread into an even layer.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and springs back when touched. Cake is likely to deflate while cooling due to the rich moisture of the pie filling -- you didn't do anything wrong, it's just the nature of the cake. See blog for serving ideas. Enjoy!
