- 38 regular Oreo cookies
- 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups chocolate baking chips (i.e. semi-sweet, white, dark, milk, bittersweet, etc.) See Notes.
- Optional: crushed cookies, chopped nuts, or sprinkles
Reduce cookies to crumbs using food processor or by placing in zip-lock bag and rolling with rolling pin.
Mix cookie crumbs with softened cream cheese.
Roll into 1-inch balls. Place balls on cookie sheet lined with waxed or parchment paper. Place balls in freezer for 15-20 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt chocolate according to package directions. Dip balls into melted chocolate and replace onto waxed paper.
Apply optional sprinkles quickly, before coating hardens. Allow coating to set, 20 minutes. Store balls in refrigerator. Enjoy!
You can also use Candy Melts or canned frosting for coating the balls. See blog for details.
Optional: drizzle any remaining melted chocolate over coated balls as decoration.
