Materials

  • 8 slices bacon (reserve 2 Tbsp. drippings)
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 green onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 2 apples, cut into match sticks

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Reserve 2 Tbsp. of drippings. Chop or crumble the bacon.
  • In the same skillet with reserved drippings, add sugar, vinegar, water, and salt. Heat to boiling, then reduce to low. Stir in onions, cabbage, and apples.
  • Simmer for 5 minutes or until heated through. Stir occasionally.
  • Place in serving dish and top with bacon crumbles. Serve immediately. Enjoy!
