Cake Pan Dinner Rolls
A small batch of soft, tender rolls with a rich, buttery taste perfect for mopping up gravies and sauces. Made in an 8" cake pan, they bake to golden perfection and pair beautifully with most dishes.

- .25 oz. active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup water, warm, approx. 110°
- 2 1/2 cups self-rising flour, plus more for dusting
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable shortening
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Grease an 8-inch cake pan with butter or non-stick spray.
In a measuring glass, mix yeast with warm water. Allow to sit 5 minutes while you mix the other ingredients.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, shortening, and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture; stir until combined.
Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface and knead 1 minute. Sprinkle with more flour if sticky. Divide dough and form into 12 balls. Place balls into prepared cake pan and cover with towel. Place cake pan in warm area allowing dough to rise; approx. 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 400°. Bake 20 minutes or until tops are golden brown. Enjoy!
