Cheater Bread Sticks

Easily turn a container of pre-made bread sticks into something delicious using your favorite seasonings and giving them a fancy twist.

Materials

  • 11 oz. container Pillsbury Bread Sticks (or French bread-see Notes below)
  • 1/4 cup seasoned olive oil
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. Italian seasoning (or other favorite preferred seasoning)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° per package directions. Open container of bread sticks and cut perforations.
  • In shallow dish, pour seasoned olive oil. Lay the bread sticks in the oil, then flip over. Place the sticks on a large baking sheet. Season one side of each stick, then twist from both ends at the same time in opposite directions, so that ends are seasoned-side up.
  • Bake for 10 - 13 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool 5 minutes, serve warm.

Notes

For French Bread: pour seasoned olive oil in large cast iron skillet. Lay dough in skillet, then flip over. Sprinkle Parmesan and seasonings over top, then bake per package directions. Cut into serving pieces.
Serving suggestions: As an appetizer, serve bread sticks with warm marinara sauce or Ranch dressing. As a side dish, serve them with something saucy, like a gravy or tomato sauce, so you can mop of the plate with them.
