Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Materials

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp. corn starch
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Line an 8 x 8" baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In small bowl, melt butter and set aside to cool.
  • In medium bowl, mix together flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In large bowl, combine brown sugar, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
  • Mix in dry ingredients.
  • Reserve 1/4 cup chocolate chips. Stir remaining chips into batter. Spread batter evenly into prepared dish, then top with reserved chips.
  • Bake for 34 - 38 minutes. Top should be golden brown.
  • Allow bars to cool completely so they have time to set up before cutting. Enjoy!

Notes

The semi-sweet chocolate chips can be substituted with any flavor chips, M&Ms, and/or add nuts.
