Materials

  • 12.4 oz. tube cinnamon rolls with icing, divided
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup topping such as blueberries, chopped strawberries, raisins, or nuts

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° and lightly butter a small baking dish or 9" pie plate.
  • Cut cinnamon rolls into quarters and set icing aside for now. Place rolls in baking dish in even layer.
  • In medium bowl, mix together eggs, heavy cream, vanilla, ginger, and nutmeg until combined. Pour over rolls. Tuck in any pieces sticking up.
  • Add your choice of topping over the top in even layer. Bake uncovered for 40 minutes, or until browned and set in the center. Let cool, then drizzle icing over top. Enjoy!

Notes

To make ahead the night before, make as directed without baking, but cover and refrigerate. In the morning, remove dish from refrigerator to warm up while the oven is heating up. Remove cover. May require a few extra minutes in the oven.
