Making Cinnamon Swirl Cherry Dessert
First, I have to say, this is such an easy dump-n-bake dessert, that you better hold onto your apron. Here goes.
Lay the cookies down in a single layer in the 13 x 9″ baking dish. Crust is done.
Quick note: you can use store bought or homemade cookies, such as my Best Ever Gingersnap Cookies.
Spread the two cans of cherry pie filling over the cookies. That was easy.

Next, Open the box of Krusteaz Cinnamon Swirl cake mix. Inside, there are two bags. Sprinkle the white bag over the pie filling, which is the cake.
Then, sprinkle the bag with the brown sugar mixture in it, which is the “swirl” part, but don’t swirl it, because today we’re just dumping. Done.
Ok, now the hard part, if you want to call it that. Slice the butter into many squares (or rectangles) to cover the top as much as possible. For instance, I cut 35 slices and laid them out 5 wide x 7 long, which is shown in the picture below.
In addition, make sure the butter is cold; this definitely helps.

Then, bake uncovered for 45 minutes, and that’s it. As a result, your kitchen should be smelling pretty amazing about now. Great job!
