Why Youโ€™ll Love This Easy Apple Cinnamon Dessert

  • Only 2 ingredients! Let’s face it, nobody wants a recipe with 50 ingredients when in a hurry.
  • Prepped in under 10 minutes, and that includes greasing the dish.
  • Uses store-bought cinnamon rolls and apple pie filling, which saves gobs of time.
  • Bakes in one 8 x 8″ dish โ€” minimal cleanup. In other words, my favorite!
  • Topped with sweet icing for that gooey, bakery-style finish, and that came with the rolls.
  • Perfect for fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, or weekend brunch.
A simple 2-ingredient treat with all the delicious flavors of Fall.

Making Apple Cinnamon Dessert

First, preheat your oven to 350ยฐ and warm up that kitchen.

Next, grease an 8 x 8″ baking dish lightly with butter or non-stick spray.

Then open that canister of cinnamon rolls and try not to blink when it explodes open. LOL! Gets me every time.

Set the icing aside for now, and cut each roll into quarters. Place the cut rolls into the baking dish.

Next, spoon the apple pie filling over the rolls and gently stir. I say, “gently,” because we want the quartered rolls to stay intact.

Then, bake uncovered for 20 minutes, and stir again. Gently. Then, continue to bake for another 25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

Drizzle with the icing that came with the cinnamon rolls while warm. And that’s it! Yay!

Delicious served warm either solo, with a scoop of ice cream, or with a healthy dollop of whipped cream on top. Yum!

Apple Cinnamon Dessert is perfect for a no-fuss, quick treat that tastes like it's from scratch.

Tips & Variations

  • Add chopped nuts, for instance, pecans or walnuts, for a crunchy topping.
  • Sprinkle with extra cinnamon or nutmeg before baking for extra spice.
  • Make it a la mode with vanilla or caramel swirl ice cream.
  • Great as a breakfast casserole or dessert.
  • Add some color with fresh raspberries or blueberries.
