Frosted Cinnamon Brownies
Frosted Cinnamon Brownies are a festive seasonal play on ordinary brownies. Make them from scratch, or use a box of brownie mix, then add the secret ingredient. The frosting is smooth and creamy with a hint of cinnamon to further infuse the taste of the holidays.

I was pleasantly surprised when I tasted cinnamon brownies. The cinnamon is subtle giving it a warm and cozy twist.
Make some and ask your friends and family if they can identify the secret ingredient.

Making Frosted Cinnamon Brownies
First, decide if you want to make the brownies from scratch or, do you want to use a box mix. I’ll break them both down.
Making Cinnamon Brownies From Scratch
Click over to my Chewy Gooey Walnut Brownies recipe, and follow the recipe with one exception. Add some cinnamon.
That recipe makes a nice sized batch, so add two teaspoons to Step 4, when you add the flour and other dry ingredients.
Bake per instructions, and cool before frosting.
Making Cinnamon Brownies From a Boxed Mix
Buy a brownie mix specifically for a 13 x 9″ baking dish. It usually says on the front of the box.
Add the two teaspoons of cinnamon to the mix, then follow the instructions on the box.
Bake and cool before frosting.

Making Chocolate Cinnamon Frosting From Scratch
I love this frosting. It’s creamy, chocolaty, and has that subtle hint of Autumn that confuses people when they try one. LOL
So, making it from scratch is fun, plus it’s as easy as it gets.
Ready? Dump the frosting ingredients in a bowl and mix. No special order of things, use a whisk or beaters, even a wooden spoon if that’s what you’ve got.
It comes together beautifully and tastes so good that it’s hard to stop taste-testing. You know what I mean, we’ve all been there.
Once made, spread evenly over the brownies.
Making Cinnamon Frosting from Ready-made
My “scratch” recipe is chocolate, but if you want to buy ready-made frosting, you can buy any flavor you want.
For instance, stick to the chocolate flavor (milk or dark), or try vanilla, cream cheese, or creamy white.
Whichever flavor you choose, add one teaspoon of cinnamon to it and mix.
Spread evenly over the brownies and enjoy.

A quick mention of this wonderful blank recipe book that I helped to create with a very dear friend. Write in one or more recipes before giving it to that special person, then they can fill the remaining pages with their favorites, and/or have other special people write out recipes for them. It’s personal, and yes, it takes time and effort — something we’ve gotten away from with all this technology. Check it out HERE where you can order a hard or soft cover. Once there, click on READ SAMPLE to see the pages within. I especially like the “measurements and conversions” page. Also, I make no money from any sales, I just love the idea of this book. Missing my mom as I do, seeing her handwriting always makes me feel closer to her. Give that gift to someone else by writing out a favorite recipe.
