Making a Cowboy Chicken Wreath

Preheat the oven to 375ยฐF.

Then, in a medium bowl, combine the shredded chicken, red onion, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

Next, pop open your crescent dough (brace yourself; itโ€™s always an emotional moment), then separate the triangles.

On a parchment-lined (or lightly greased) baking sheet, arrange the dough triangles in a circle around a small(ish) bowl that you’re likely to fill with a dipping sauce after it’s baked. Specifically, lay the triangle around the bowl with the short sides overlapping in the center and the longest point facing outward–like a star that went to culinary school. See picture.

Cowboy Chicken Wreath is fun and easy to make using crescent dough and cooked chicken.

To assemble, sprinkle half the cheese over the inside of the wreath where the dough overlaps. Next, spoon the chicken mixture over the cheese, then lastly, spread the rest of the cheese over the top of the chicken mixture. To recap; cheese, chicken, cheese. You’ve got this. Oh, and set the small bowl aside for now.

Then, fold the dough tips over the filling (towards the center) and tuck them underneath to create a wreath shape.

Cowboy Chicken Wreath can also be made with leftover turkey.

Bake for 25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Let it cool slightly, then slice or pull apart for serving, and try not to eat half of it before your family/friends notice.

Also, place that small bowl back in the center of the wreath and fill it with your favorite dipping sauce.
